I heard they are trying to remake Slap Shot. Can you believe that BS?

I also heard the Hanson brothers are a bunch of jackasses, so I’m sure they’re trying to find a way to make more money on it. Nevermind maintaining the integrity of the original. Sigh.

And Jim Carrey’s playing Paul Newman’s role. That’s like substituting Valrhona chocolate with discounted carob powder right there.

So apt that Billy G’s outro was by Springsteen…

Just so I never have to answer this again. I'm from Singapore so whenever you see me online, I'm either sleep deprived or just waking up.

Very nice ceremony. The Penguins showed their class. Great pic. Frank same hairstyle.

The best part of the video is when Billy is having the tea party. He looks like he’s having a very serious conversation.

Has there ever been a player, besides Gary Roberts, that has been so loved in such a short period of time?

by biggoron on Dec 7, 2010 8:01 AM EST via mobile reply actions

well

both Roberts and Guerin were respected for what they had done before becoming a Pen, and when they got here, they showed class(and grit) and were pretty productive while they were here(in their own way)… so it’s not real surprising that they were as loved when they got here.

I feel kinda blessed that all the players we get are so classy & real.

Both GR & Billy G. HArd not to love a guy who does the dirty work & beat you into the floor if you don’t behave yourself.

Thank you Frank, I was looking all over for this video last night.

Good luck, Billy G!

I got so misty last night when I saw this. So glad he retired as a Penguin. The fans loved him, and it’s good that he showed them love right back.

Anyone else think the trip to Hawaii thing was really odd? Hope he enjoys it, though.

Thanks Frank! Some things I noticed:
- Billy was wearing a black suit and a gold tie. I’m sure that wasn’t by accident :)
- Sid holds bouquets pretty awkwardly
- that trip to Hawaii seems kinda random, but great of Mario + Ron nonetheless
- It was great to see DB pretty involved in the ceremony. I haven’t seen many Pens ceremonies but the various ones I have seen around the league, the coach isn’t really recognised
- Good luck Billy!

Didn;t notice this before, but he had his Pens championship ring on as well…but not his Devils one, though.
