RIP Brendan Burke
Brendan Burke, son of Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke, died in a car accident yesterday. Brendan Burke was a brave and passionate young man who was open about his homosexuality in a sports world that is not always accepting, but his love for hockey is what truly stood out. As hockey fans, please send thoughts and prayers to the Burke family and the Maple Leafs orginization. This is so tragic! May he rest in peace.

This is some seriously sad news. As far as I’m concerned the kid was pretty courageous for coming out earlier this year. Just tragic.

Like I said on twitter….
One the greatest but saddest things about the hockey family is when someone hurts, everybody does. Thoughts and prayers for the Burke’s through their tough time.
Also agree with Down Goes Brown when he said: “Brendan Burke showed more courage and did more good in his short life than most of us could hope for”
