According to the Pens official website, Letang has been extended for 4 years. There don't appear to be any financial terms available yet. Assuming that it isn't for some absurd amount of money, this seems like a great signing.....he is still young for a defenseman playing in the NHL and shows quite a bit of upside still (despite his issues with hitting the net). I would imagine that this likely spells the end of Gonchar when the season finishes, but that was pretty much expected already.
