Gameday update: Mark Eaton out tonight?
Seth from Empty Netters reports that defenseman Mark Eaton is questionable for tonight's game against the New York Rangers with an unknown injury.
Eaton took part in the morning skate, paired with Sergei Gonchar. If he's unable to play, Jay McKee (healthy scratch) will take his place in the lineup.

It was only a matter of time. He’s been healthy for far too long.

I guess I am missing something, but I never thought that Jay Mckee was doing a bad job. He seemed to perform his job fairly well. Nothing outstanding, but I felt he was consistent. Maybe I was not watching him close enough? I guess he was a healthy scratch because all the other defense men are better?
Seth at empty netters had a good look; his Shots Blocked per game went from like 4.7 before his injury to 2.2.
I did notice McKee was a combined -4 in the last 4 games he played (admittedly I did not check anyone else). I don’t remember him making any glaring mistakes either, but maybe the coach’s see something on video they don’t like in his game right now.
Wayne Gretzky had it wrong: 100% of the shots Gary Roberts doesn't take DO go in.
I guess he’s not really known for his fleet of foot style of play which, given Pittsburgh’s defense pressing in the offensive zone, can really put a slow skater out of position.
