The Penguins faced the Islanders in the final regular season game at Mellon Arena. It was a night to celebrate the history of this amazing team and the building they have called home for so many years. The players didn't disappoint, giving an inspired performance, but seriously, how can you not be inspired when you've just shared the ice with guys like Lemieux, Coffey, Pronovost, Murphy, Trottier and Johnston, just to name a few?

We ran into Ponikarovsky at the hotel a few hours after the game.

And he was nice enough to pose with the Knitting Lady's sock on double-pointed needles.

Absolutely awesome pictures. You must have had great seats! I wish I were creative enough to come up with captions for those last two. I look forward to what people come up with. Again, great pictures. Thanks for sharing.
