Pittsburgh Penguins vs Ottawa Senators - Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Game 5
Epic games lead to epic disappointment, for one team at least, and I have to admit I felt some of that while making the 4-hour drive from Pittsburgh back to Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Not because I think the Pens will lose the series - in fact I think they'll wrap it up in game 6 back in Ottawa - but I really wanted to see them finish the Senators at home, as they did to the Rangers in game 5 back in '08. It was not to be, as Carkner's shot found its way past Fleury in the 3rd overtime period, sending the Igloo crowd home feeling unsatisfied, to say the least.
A few choice pics from the game are below. For the complete set, please click the link at the top of the post. Enjoy!
The PENSBURGH signs, 5-0 coming into this game, were in position.
The Pens were hoping to bring the series in for a soft landing.
LET'S GET IT ON!
Not a good sign if Geno is yawning already.
The Sens had gone up 2-0 early, making this late period strike by Letang freaking HUGE.
That's a pretty dainty way of getting up the ice.
Let's go to the video replay.
Waiting for the call.
Still waiting for the call.
Here it comes.
I think this one went the Pens' way, but still required a lengthy explanation.
Back to hockey.
Our PP is doing pretty well at %23 so far, but I've seen the strategy and it doesn't look good.
Cue George Baker's Little Green Bag. Would Mike Yeo be Mr. Pink?
"Seriously, I missed it by that much"
Happiness abounds as Sid has scored to put the Pens up 3-2 in the 3rd.
"Our little baby's all growns up"
Unfortunately, Ottawa tied the game.
Going to overtime!
Let's get it on - overtime style.
It's a beautiful day for a ballgame...let's play two!"
Getting it on....triple OT style.
Aw shit.
