Who To Root For Now?

Who's left?

West

East

Chicago Blackhawks

Montreal Canadiens

San Jose Sharks

Boston Bruins

Philadelphia Flyers

Granted the Flyers are currently down 3-1 against the Bruins in game 7 of their series... they are still in it for now, so they are still included. /edit - Flyers/Bruins now tied at 3... wtf

West

Okay, for the West we have the Blackhawks and Sharks. As a Penguins fan I really have no hatred for either team... Chicago is an original 6 team so I kind of tend to at least want to pull for them... but then again, they are from CHICAGO! From my experience, a majority of Chicago fans are rude jerks with no common sense and they just generally annoy the heck out of me, so any time I can root against them, I'm going to do it. I do kind of like some of their players and think they are probably the most talented team left... But, the MAJOR negative for them is... #81. Nothing makes me happier than to see him jump team to team in order to win a cup and see him go down.

As for the Sharks.. the main pulling factor for me to root for them is the fact that I have nothing against them. Nothing really for them either. They are one of the teams in the NHL that I don't hate, dislike, love or like in really any way. I kind of like Joe Thornton just because of how good he is... but I really have no reason to root for them. My biggest negatives for them are that they are in California and that they are in the West. Other then that, I have nothing against them.

East

The Montreal Canadiens... another original 6 team... the team that came from the 8th seed and eliminated our beloved Penguins. Okay... I still don't hate the Habs. I'm pissed that they eliminated the Pens and I don't think they are going to make it past the next round... but the Pens played like crap and the Habs had their stars really step up and take over the series(Cammalleri FTW???). But the fact that they eliminated the Pens also kind of in some way wants me to root for them. If the Canadiens win the cup, then the team that eliminated the Pens was the best team this year(sorta), so it's kind of makes me feel at least a little less sorrowful that the Pens were eliminated... (not much). That being said, the Habs have won the cup 24 times and they have Lapierre who is pretty darn annoying. So no love for them.

The Boston Bruins... another original 6 team. Kind of another team to me that I really don't hate or anything, just don't really have any feelings for them. I was happy to see Savard come back after his concussion, but that doesn't make me like them or anything. I was thinking that if the Pens and Bruins made it to the Conference finals that it would be a good game with some history (due to the hit).. but that obviously didn't happen. A big plus for the Bruins is Mark Recchi. It's VERY hard to root against him, especially while wearing black and gold... even though it's not the Pens black and gold. I'm still amazed that Tim Thomas is no longer their starting goaltender... I really like Tim Thomas because his first name is my brothers first name, and his last name is my first name... I always thought that was kind of cool. I also got to watch him alot in the AHL(I'm in Houston and the AHL Bruins came around quite a bit to play the Aeros).

Philadelphia Flyers... okay, no way as a Pens fan could I ever actually root for the Flyers... I'm hoping they will get eliminated tonight, even though I was pulling for them in the last 3 games(just because I didn't want any sweeps... playoff hockey is AWESOME!!). But they are the flyers, so I am obviously going to hate them and hope they lose now. I am impressed that they came back from 3-0 to force a game 7 and I believe it would be a nice footnote for some trivia if they came back to win this series... but they are the Flyers, so I hate them and hope they lose.

So, WHO DO I ROOT FOR?????

I guess my answer would be.. the Sharks. Go Sharks!... I guess
