Madden Interviews Orpik
Check out the podcast from Wednesday (May 19). Say what you will about Madden, but this is a great interview. Brooks stays classy and doesn't name names in a blame game (except when he makes fun of Kris Letang), but he gives some great perspective on everything from Round 2, to leaving Mellon, to how they rebuild for next year. I recommend it as 15 minutes of your time well spent!

Thanks for pointing out the interview. It was good. As much as I do, often, disagree with some of the things Madden says, he has done some really good interviews. The one back in February with Crosby is excellent, too.
Thanks I got to check it out too.
Did like how obviously Orpik’s real serious and not too happy given how things went down, but even he took a second to chuckle and crack a joke about Letang. That’s good stuff.
Heh … it was a great moment. One of those where it took me a second to realize he was joking — but obviously if he trash talking Letang, he’s messing with Letang. No other explanation!
Go, Shero, Go!!! And also Brian Burke.
He may have meant it in a joking manner, but Letang does often ask a lot of questions and “follow people around” often….
Hm. Maybe he was less kidding than I thought, then.
Or … wait … “from what I’ve heard”???
You’re really Mike Rupp in real life, aren’t you? Or … no … probably Max Talbot. That “new intern” at work (I’ve been stalking you via Twitter)? More like some hot chic you met on a beach, I bet.
Your behaviour is very, very suspect …
Go, Shero, Go!!! And also Brian Burke.
Madden Interviews Orpik
Right after the interview a caller asked Madden what Orpik meant when he said something like “don’t give too much to Tanger, he’ll get confused”. Madden said Letang is VERY bright, but he is an airhead sometimes and they like to tease him. Madden also added that he loves the kid, and “nobody has a bigger heart than #58”. It actually surprised me because usually Madden answers callers with some wisecrack, but this time was very serious.
