Game 4 injury update: Guerin out, Rupp doubtful, Staal game-time decision
Injuries a-plenty, the Penguins likely won't have a couple of regulars in the playoff lineup for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens:
Highlights and comments from Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma's media conference today at Bell Centre:
- Jordan Staal is a game-time decision
- Bill Guerin is probably out with a likely return on Saturday for Game 5
- Mike Rupp is questionable due to undisclosed reasons
Canadian media reports that Guerin is battling an elbow infection, but then again they also reported Staal was done for the season, so take that with a grain of salt.
Rupp's condition is news to us, but the big guy is only playing 7:50 in a purely 4th line role, so he ought to be the easiest guy to replace, and even though HCDB officially has Rupper as "questionable", many reports seem make him unlikely to play.
If all three regulars are unable to go, expect Ruslan Fedotenko, Mark Letestu and then perhaps Chris Conner (who's played this post-season) to all get jerseys in bottom six forward roles.

Staal, a game time decision? Either people really exaggerated this injury, or HCDB is playing some strategy game to keep Habs off balance, or of course, Staalsy is a beast. Hmm, interesting, verra interesting.
Let's go Pens!
The beauty of playoff hockey – some just fight through whatever injuries they have to be of some value to their teams. Gotta love hockey players. Interesting whatever Guerin is fighting, and also a bit odd to see Ruppers on this list. Rupp may only play 9 minutes a night, but doesn’t seem to do anything wrong with his time on the ice. Not great news, but it’ll be interesting to see if Conner adds some more speed to the lineup if he gets the call.
I think there could be a chance…Minus Rupp, Staal and Guerin the Pens don’t have too much size left up front as those are 3 of the biggest and more physical forwards on the team

Guerin infection .....
It’s odd because Guerin practiced so his infection is questionable. If he had and infection in the elbow, the last thing he wants to do is put on hockey equipment. Is probably a smoke screen so, they don’t hit him on his back. Jordan will play see my previous posts.
Or he practiced in full gear to see how it would respond, and it didn’t go so well.
Leafs fan living large in the Pitt and pretending like the drought is over. Go Pens!
