Penguins vs. Canadiens, Round 2, Game 5

MONTREAL- MAY 6: Josh Gorges #26 and Jaroslav Halak #41 of the Montreal Canadiens celebrate their 3-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Bell Centre on May 6, 2010 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Canadiens defeated the Penguins 3-2 tying the series 2-2. (Photo by Richard Wolowicz/Getty Images)

[SBN Habs Blog - Habs Eyes on the Prize]

At last the Penguins are back on Mellon Arena ice, returning with the same advantage (or lack thereof) they had heading into Montreal.  1-1 when they left, 2-2 when they returned.  Only difference is we're now looking at a best of three series instead of seven.  The matchup is getting intense and it's going to take a tremendous effort on home ice to edge out the win tonight.

The preview's short and sweet, mainly because I'm short on time.  So, until the puck drops tonight for the thread, you know what you have to do.  Once again, a public thanks to Alighieri for taking over the scoring duties:

Format: Winning team name - Score - First Pens goal scorer's last name

Give me the first Penguins goal scorer
Give me the final score (include which team will win)

Example: Penguins - 7-2 - Lemieux

I have withheld my predictions because of prior superstitions, but now...

after eating my Lucky Little Ceasar’s pizza last night and having the Hockey Gods figuratively $%&^ all over my ritual, I’m gonna buck the trend and give a prediction. I figure I need to change things up a bit.

I just ordered his jersey, so sue me…actually don’t…I’m in law school so that scares me now.

Sweet!

Good luck on it. Don’t get too stressed out, it will literally lower your point total. Some of the best advice I received was to take the day before the exam off (or at least the night before). Go watch a movie or play a video game for a few hours to unwind.

good luck lawyers! goodness knows I might need one when I come back stateside one of these days.

After about a year and a half, I've finally got around to giving myself a profile. Yay me!

i want a Staal jersey. or t-shirt, or anything..

So far all I have are 3 t-shirts which look like jerseys, the blue Fleury, a black Sid and a white pre-alternate captain Geno…

may remedy that for my birthday… (insert devious grin)

How to you study law in the US (I assume You live in states). In Europe we concentrate on our countrys legislation and then study common law and continental (codification) as general. But in US you have different laws in defferent states and the federal and local government so how to you manage/orientate.

by Taavi on May 8, 2010 6:30 PM EDT up reply actions

You’re right that the American system is different from the Civil System that most of Europe has. As far as how US law schools study law, it sort of depends on what area of law you are studying. For example, if you are studying something like Contracts, or Criminal Law (just had that final today…blech) then most of it is codified into the UCC and the MPC (or separate state codes) respectively. So common law only has a little bit to do with it (again, depending on jurisdiction).

For stuff like Property and Torts, it is mostly all common law, so you study cases alot.

Then there is Legal Research and Writing where you learn how to write memos, briefs, and the like.

For the most part, you learn both the Federal law and the specific state law your law school is located in at the same time. And then you study even more for the Bar, where it is heavily dependent upon where you are taking it.

You’re supposed to name the first Pens scorer — which in your case is no one (ergh!).

Or you can make up some story about how we’re trading Staal for Gionta. But you should know that Staal is already on the block to be traded for Spezza, what with Round 1’s chaos ‘n all. You could also aim for a Letestu-Gionta trade, but it’s doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

Anyway, it’s up to you.
