from what i’ve seen so far, i love bennet’s puck sense. he also really seems to have that natural scoring touch, and he doesn’t look like he’s afraid to get his nose dirty, which i have to admit i kind of half expected from a kid growing up in california lol the future in pittsburgh certainly looks bright!
ps. as exciting as the footage from prospect camp is, let’s not overlook 3+ minutes of getting to check out pens tv hottie katie o’malley
hah Uh oh. That California comment might get AlexStitch going.
Now, I sit and wait to see his response.

He desperately needs to bulk up. I couldn’t help but think he looked like a boy amongst men. He was determined, but eventually always seemed to get knocked off the puck. He’s got hands and can makes some great passes, though. A couple years of college will do him wonders.

That’s more or less what I saw at Saturday’s practice, Eurydice. He wasn’t shy about contact or corner play, he just wasn’t to capable. Vellieux abused him 1v1 in one of the 3-on-3 drills. We caught a glimpse of his skill when he made a beautiful saucer pass over the D-man’s stick right to the tape on 2-on-1 during the scrimmage. Not sure if that was in the video since it’s blocked here at work.
Yeah but that can be said about a lot of the 18-year-old kids coming into the league. Sure, you’ll get your exceptions like Sid, but a lot of the times you get this teenage kid who’s still looking to grow into his body. A little lifting, a meeting with a team nutritionist and of course a little time, and the guys will be bulked up in no time.

Absolutely, Frank. No negative implications on my part, just observations from seeing him compete against (mostly) pro players. I think college will be good for his development, since he should get more time in the weight room at Denver compared to the extensive major junior schedule.
Oh I know, I’m just saying. I mean, I think back to when I was 21, three years old than these guys, and I was 6’4", 180 lbs. But once I hit the gym four days a week after college I bulked up to 235 over the span of 18 months. And I wasn’t playing any sports other than rec, so they can definitely similar results with actual guidance from team peeps. I just relied on a friend who was a personal trainer.

could also be down to your general body build… You can pile on all the muscle that you want but some guys just aren’t meant to be 200 plus pounds…
but you’re right, having a trained nutritionist & trainers (trained trainers who train *heh) can’t hurt at all…
Is it October yet?
Just so I never have to answer this again. I'm from Singapore so whenever you see me online, I'm either sleep deprived or just waking up.
Unfortunately yes. And whenever I go to the bathroom he talks about an “active stick.” And then I cry myself to sleep.
