According to the nhl.com free agency blog, the Islanders have waived Brendan Witt with the intention of buying out his contract.
Will we see another move from Shero similar to the McKee pick up?
Toughness, veteran presence, defensive depth. That might not be bad if he'll accept minimum salary, but I don't know much about Brendan Witt, except he's not a guy I'd want to run into in a dark alley. Hopefully some of you guys are better acquainted with him.
