Mt. Pensmore: Part III
The final vote was close, but when the poll officially closed at 11:55 PM ET on Sunday night, Sid just barely edged out Double-J by the final vote count of 252 - 250.
First: Mario Lemieux
Second: Sidney Crosby
Third:
Fourth:
I think I'd be on safe ground assuming Jagr gets the third spot, but I'll leave it to a vote anyway. This one concludes Wednesday night at 11:59 PM.

Woot! Come from behind victory!!
Is there much debate on this one? Aside from those who think Jagr shouldn’t be on at all

First of all
wow that last poll was a close one. Since Sid won, I think this is a no brainer.
Jagr. Boom. Like pushing the easy button.
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
No vote needed for third.
The spot for second was so close that you would think Jagr would automatically be given the third spot. (I guess not?)
Just move on to the fourth spot, which is what everybody is waiting for. It should be a hotly contested battle with all sides giving it there all. Can’t wait. This might be the best competition of the summer. ;)
Bull
I demand a recount. Jags deserved the number two spot simply because of this:

Ah sorry about that. The mobile versions on some sites do that sometime. I think if you copy and paste the link it’ll work. I definitely recommend viewing it.

Now that I watch it again, it’s a home game. Not sure who he’s giving the bird. Devils fans in the arena or Devils players? Still a sweet goal.

Tie? Uh Oh!
I doubt if it happens for the third spot but it’s very possible that the fourth and final spot could end up tied. Then what ? What are the tiebreaking procedures (if any)? Do you put five heads on the mountain ? If so it really wouldn’t be Mt. PENSMORE, would it?
The plot thickens, hahahaha.
In the event of a tie I suppose we’ll just have to expand it a bit. But I don’t really see a tie happening, but I guess I could be mistaken.

Anyone who doesn’t think Jags belongs on this thing needs to get the Youtube clip of the goal he scored in game 1 of the Finals in 1992. Rarely have such awesome goals been scored in such big moments.
That is all.
P is for Latrobe.

Gotta be. I like Francis, but his heart is with Hartford/Carolina stuff…. I was on the fence with Jags since he played on the two teams I hate slightly less than Philly, but that’s just my bias…. I’d go Barrasso as well since most every other prolific team has a goalie on their Rushmore, and I’m not prepared to put Flower up there… Ken Wreggett or Moose, maybe, but not MAF. Yet.
Agree with your thoughts on Craig Patrick but not on Moose and Wreggett over MAF, no way in hell! I think it’s time to give the kid some props, he’s a Stanley Cup winning goalie, allowing 2 goals in the last 2 games including winning the pressure cooker of a game 7 ON THE ROAD! Against the frikkin’ RED WINGS no less. And if you believe that Barrasso belongs than so does Fleury, he’s basically Barrasso redux ( a talented goalie who makes the important save when needed but certainly no Patrick Roy, then again how many goalies are?)…
ya.....
That Wreggett and Moose thing was kinda, a joke…. Flower wins a 2nd cup, he’s up there before Barrasso. Hell, if he makes a slightly measured improvement on his GAA average, than I’m in his park. I just hate like hell watching him when he gets lost in teh crease. Sometimes he is able to flounder around enough to stop a dribbling shot when he gets all"lumberjack on a wet log", but once he starts losing track of the puck and starts going side to side keeping up with the other team, that’s when the 2 and 3 hole goals start hitting. He needs to get a helluva lot more confidence in his ability to stand strong in the net and react better to what’s happening. He’s certainly not awful, but he’s got some improvement before he’s considered a “Franchise Face”

OMG
Hit the nail on the head.
This is exactly how I feel about MAF, but I’ve always had trouble explaining it without pissing people off.
Thank you.
