Bill Guerin Aiming for Tryout with...Flyers
Bill Guerin is looking to get a tryout offer with the Flyers, according to CSN Philly's Tim Panaccio.
Update: Billy was apparently just looking for a place to skate. But how about that picture?

I think
I will vomit if he signs with the Flyers. That’s just gross!

Well, it wasn’t what I was expecting, but he’s got to find a job somewhere.
Good luck, Billy G!
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
I’d be sad to see him on the Flyers, but still happy for him. But on the CSN website (believe it if you want) Billy G says hes not happy about being cut loose.
Please dont make me have to hate you Billy. Just be grateful you won another cup.
"...hes not happy about being cut loose."
This is where I draw the line. Dude is turning 40 years old. I don’t know about you, but if that’s the route he’s going to take then I can’t wait for opening night.

Guerin, 39, was disappointed to be cut loose by Pittsburgh so late in the summer.
It says he was disappointed. Uhh…what player wouldn’t be? He just wants a job! I doubt he’s angry with the Pens; he’s a professional that never really stayed with one team for a very long period of time, he knows the drill.
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
Yes, he said disappointed, but if he didn’t realize before last week that he wasn’t coming back then hes in a fairytale land.
I’d be if I had a 1 in 13 chance, which Billy pretty much had.
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
Disappointed in Billy G terms strikes me as him say, “Yeah, well what are you going to do?”
Disappointed, as potentially spun by the Philly media, strikes me as him “allegedly” saying, “They’ll pay for this.”
Recchi was disappointed in the same sense, and frankly I think the Pens treated him far worse. At least Guerin got a Cup, tried one more year and was cut loose. Don’t let the Philly media get in our heads.

Yea, but Recchi did an interview shortly after landing with the Lightning and he was pretty pissed from what I remember
Yeah that’s my point. When I said “same sense” I meant “They’ll pay for this.” My bad for not clarifying. And I remember even sooner with the Thrashers he ripped into the Pens for how they handled the situation. At the time I didn’t blame him one bit and hindsight I still don’t.
But for Guerin? Different story. He’s had all summer to play the field, so to speak, and I’m sure he and his agent were open to offers while the Pens will still slow playing the hand. Amicable might not be the right word to apply here, but I’m sure it’s not far off from that.

I gotcha now. Yea, I actually meant to say Thrashers. I don’t recall him still bitching after signing with the Lightning but he probably did. He got jerked around pretty good, but in fairness he was not playing well.
Oh I definitely feel like he had it coming at the time. He was playing like ish. But the way they handled it, demoting him to WBS and whatnot, not so cool.

I’m just glad Satan wasn’t too upset with his demotion. Really happy he stuck around. You dont need a guy like him on your bad side. :)
Funny. I was going to mention him before as well but figured his goal in the playoffs against the Caps was all the “F You” he needed to say.

And he scored against the Canes in game 1 I think. But yea, I almost bruised my own hands in the Caps game
i’d imagine guys in that situation develop a fueled-by-rage approach. Even Recchi came back with the Trashers and burned the Pens on a shootout goal. Funny how those things work.

But, he’s not angry with the Pens.
The organization said when we signed Asham that the they still hadn’t made a decision on Billy G. So, when he found out last week that he wasn’t coming back, he was “disappointed.” Who wouldn’t be?
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
And I was worried he’d sign with the Caps!
Don’t do it Billy!

I like Billy G.....................................for now!
If he sign’s with the Flyers, I then will hope Asham smashes him! I like Bill G, but I don’t feel tied to him like I did when Jagr left. Wasn’t around long enough. When Jagr left, I wanted to see him play well, even against the Pens…can’t say the same for good ole Guerin.

I'm not too worried...
It’s not like Gary Roberts is leaving the Pens!!!! Guerin is in a decline sorry its true. I’m sure half of the NHL skaters can put up his numbers playing with Crosby just like Thornton turned Cheechoo into a scoring machine. If he gets a contract from Philly its going to be limited to a 3rd line/4th line and they’d have to dump someone. Carcillo? I’m still laughing at their route of not re-signing Asham and signing Shelley hahahaha
Why are we worried?
If he couldn’t make our roster but could make someone else’s doesn’t that imply that our roster is inherently better?
Let that man fight for a job, he has the right. Yeah I wish he went somewhere out of the division, but what can you do?
Life is about one simple choice, get busy living or get busy dying
Good luck to Billy
One thing you can say about Billy, that you cannot about many NHL players, is that he always gave it all, no matter what team he played on. Sadly the Pens could not keep him because of age + salary cap. Wish you all the best Billy.
P.S I don’t think you’ll get booed when you play against the Pens .

Oh God…the picture.
That really hurts. Although, it’s a business and this is just the way things are, as a fan, it hurts.
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
Admittedly, it made me laugh.

Love Billy to bits but no one looks good dressed in traffic cone orange except Steve Nash.
Is it October yet?
Just so I never have to answer this again. I'm from Singapore so whenever you see me online, I'm either sleep deprived or just waking up.
It makes him look sallow. And I think the only athlete who ever looked good in orange is Tony Stewart.

GOD HELP US!
So be have traded Billy G’s trading rights for AA basically!
Wow. I am speechless, don’t know what else to say but PLEASE NOOOOO!
Every day is a great day for hockey!
I have to say I think the Penguins could have done better than Guerin for the price he was asking. (Hate to say it, but have to say it.) That said, there’s no way anyone can tell me Asham’s better. I hope Shero’s pulling a rabbit out of his hat soon.

Billy G/Flyers
I don’t want Billy G to play for the Flyers but I still wish him the best; I just hope it is with anyone besides the Flyers!

OT
IIRC, there was a hurricane in Halifax when team Canada’s training camp was starting last summer, and Canada won gold. There was a Hurricane (the Eric Staal kind) in Pittsburgh in 2009 and the Pens won the Cup. Hurricane Earl is hitting Saturday as Pens training camp starts…
As long as there’s no serious damage, I take it as a good sign

Holy shit…
We’re starting training camp?!
Man, this college move took a lot out of me!
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
If Billy G signs with the flyers, opening night fight between Asham and Guerin. How awesome would that be?

I believe you just found the pony near the pile of pony crap. That would be sick!

I understand he wants to keep playing and has expressed a strong preference for the Eastern Conference…but oh, I hope this doesn’t lead to anything!
