a steal for the desert dogs...and (yet another) misfire by the caps
Eric Belanger has signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Coyotes.
Belanger had reportedly agreed to a contract in principle with the Capitals in August, but it was believed to be contingent on Washington making other roster changes. It appears as though those changes never came to pass, which resulted in Belanger moving on. Although the terms of the deal have not been officially disclosed, he'll reportedly earn $750,000. That's a pretty good price for someone who scored 15 goals and 41 points in 77 games last season. Source: Washington Post
