PensBurgh Fantasy Hockey Rotisserie-ESPN

All,

We have one league set up on ESPN, I believe it has 7 PensBurghers currently, if anyone else would like to join please let me know as I would like to get the draft set up since we are coming up on the regular season. Again, this is a great way to get into Fantasy hockey. Also there are a ton of leagues out there to choose from here at PensBurgh. So choose wisely :-)

Please email me if you'd like to join so I can invite you to the league.

UPDATE: We are sitting on 12 teams right now, if anyone is interested we still have 4 spots left. Newbies welcome, that's really the point of this league, it's to wet your fantasy hockey beak, or cut your fantasy hockey teeth so to speak. I plan on setting up the draft this weekend for a date next week. At that point I will have to "Close" the league to new entries.

I’ll set up an online draft, and you can either rank players and auto draft (or just auto draft using ESPN’s ranking) or you can be live for the draft, I’ll try and do an early evening EST Draft-probably early next week.

I’m “Michaleks Anonymous” in this league. I neglected to join the others, my bad. Two hockey leagues is already pushing it for me, though, and I’m in one with a bunch of guys who work with a friend of mine as filler there.

rookie question

now that we’re through the draft I have a general question (more of a conclusion:)

Given that there are limits on GP for the different positions it doesn’t make sense to try to change your line-up every day so that the players who are in action on the respective day are all in the line-up. If you do this you’ll end up spending your GP limits before the end of the season.

Am I thinking in the right direction?

e.g. you have 2 Center positions with limit on GP – 164 games.

You have 2 centers in the line-up and 2 on the bench.

If you rotate them on a daily basis so that the ones who play that night are starting you’ll (may be) get more points in the beginning, but will spend the GP very quickly and end up just watching how your players rack-up points during the final third of the season, but it doesn’t bring any good to your Fantasy team since you have no games left.

Correct, you might want to consider playing the GP limit’s towards the 2nd half of the season. First half just keep your best players in, just my advice.

oh man, complicated. LOL I have to read the rules again. I got stuck downtown during the draft. Thankfully, it automatically (I think) drafted for me. This is probably better for a newbie like me, except for the Sheldon Souray choice. Ouch. Someone needs to pick that man up.
