more on 3C and Staal-Malkin reunited
Evgeni Malkin might serve as a right winger this season.
With Mike Comrie signed and capable of centering the third line, the Penguins are believed to be seriously considering moving Jordan Staal up to the second line to play with Malkin. That's a change Malkin is reportedly looking forward to, even if it means shifting from his natural position. Malkin did spend the better part of the Penguins' 2009 Postseason run as a right winger and he went onto score 14 goals and 36 points en route to being named the Playoff MVP. He also served as a winger for Russia in the 2010 World Championship. Stay tuned.

We certainly have the depth players and roll players. Now if our first and second lines could both be consistent simultaniously… Idealy, the Staal/Malkin line will emerge as a consistent force throughout the entire season. It will be fun to watch either way!
I think everybody is...
Looking forward to seeing what Malkin can do on the wing. As long as his defensive responsibility does not break down, I’m for this. Let’s see what he can do.

Interesting line posibilities,
kunitz – crosby – dupuis
comrie – staal – malkin
cooke – talbot – kennedy
rupp – adams – asham
I love this preliminary line combo!!!!
(If Talbot can play like we all know he can!!!)

Switch up Comrie and Dupuis; as well as possibly Asham and TK (what a punishing 3rd line Talbo, Cooke, and Asham would be!) and I think you’ve got a solid line up.
So when's October you ask? Well, here's your answer.
Staal is going to miss camp...
The Pens are saying they hope he’ll be ready for the start of the season
Does that rollback the Staalkin experiment?
As much as I like the idea, I can’t see them jumping into it with both feet w/o time to practice/play together before the start of the season…
