Get Well Soon, Sid!
For Sid (via SilverFlame11)
For Sid 2 (via SilverFlame11)
For a great hockey player, a great individual, and a great inspiration. Get well soon, Sid. We can't wait to see you back on the ice
During Saturday's game, I promised Leafer87 that I would make a get well card for Sid, including several comments from members on Pensburgh. I'm fairly new to the hockey world, and am grateful that I entered as a fan of one of the best teams out there and a fan of the greatest player in the NHL. You can thank iPenguin67 for that. Although I'm still learning about the game, I am in awe of what Sidney Crosby can do out there on the ice. He is part of the reason why I so quickly fell in love with the sport. Sid is a player I admire, not only for what he does as an individual, but what he does daily for his team. That's the reason why I decided I could put this together. This card is nothing fancy, but I think it's something that Sid will appreciate. And, as requested, Cari's comment is highlighted, and rightly so. I think it summarizes the thoughts of many of us here on Pensburgh. There are several other comments on the back, along with all of the usernames I could find. Again, I know this is pretty simple, mostly because there was so much to write, but I really enjoyed putting this together.I am also including a short note of my own that is still in the works. If anyone has something they would like me to add, please comment and I will do so. I'm planning on putting this in the mail tomorrow afternoon. Leafer, thanks for the fabulous idea, and thank you for being persistent so that someone would do this and get it sent. I know it's something that Sid will appreciate.
Also, if there is anyone not listed on the back that would like to be, please let me know :)
The content expressed in fanposts does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the staff here at Pensburgh.com. FanPosts are opinions expressed by fans of various teams throughout the league but may be more Pittsburgh-centric for obvious reasons.

That’s awesome!
I’m sure Leafer will be ecstatic when she sees it! Is it completed?

Hey
Could you please add what I wrote: it was from the heart. I know I wrote it a little late,
after Leafer and Cari but it means alot of me.
Thanks:

It’s probably inside, like it says in the fanpost.
SilverFlame, do you mind posting pictures of the inside too? So everyone can see how their comments turned out.

I hope this gets to Sid. I hope he gets better. Watching hockey—it’s just not the same
without him, you know?

Of course. I just need to get my scanner light working again. It got stuck about half-way through scanning the back last night, but at that point I needed to go to sleep. Go figure. I’ll see what I can do about that tonight though and rescan the back :)

Yea, it’s on the back :) I just ran out of room on the front, but I made sure I didn’t leave anyone’s comments out.

Not a problem. This is the first time I’ve sent anything to anyone famous, so it was quite a thrilling experience. I had lots of fun working on it too :D
I should also tell you that when I went shopping for gold paint pens yesterday, I kept finding gold glitter glue pens and thought of you. I decided it would be too much though :P

You did an amazing job! Thanks so much for the care and work you put into the card. It looks awesome, and it was really cool of you to take this on for the group. I’m glad we’re doing what we can for Sid during a really crappy time for him.
I believe in Geno.

Just because I don't know where else to put this...
Ovi got caught for diving tonight. Wow.
That was his 5th career diving penalty. Crosby, meanwhile, only has one diving penalty in his career.

Speaking of the game tonight, how about that shootout? I know it’s just a gimmick, but the Rangers shooters (and Hendricks) certainly made it fun to watch.

I actually didn’t watch the game tonight (I was, however, a scoreboard watcher and saw the penalty). Haha, but it seemed like a good one.

Feels kind of dirty
talking about Ovechkin in a get well Sid post, but oh well. Not sure if this was the play on which the penalty was called, but I found it funny that this was the photo used in the game recap on Japers’.

Apparently that wasn’t the play, but it’s still funny that it was used as the photo for the recap of a game where he was called for diving.

Nah…I don’t think that’s it.
He fell on his back, but it is interesting that they’d use that picture.
Ovi’s dives that have been called are so much worse than anything Crosby’s allegedly done. Crazy. The dive from last night isn’t even on Youtube yet! If it had even looked like Sid might have dove, it would be all over the internet by now. How does Ovechkin get away with crap like this?

Any chance people will talk about him whining to the ref after the call? Didn’t think so.

2 points
1) Oveckin’s Pathetic
B) Billy Jaffe is a dope: “What are they callin’ Ovechkin for, that’s what I’m curious.” Hah? You couldn’t tell? Dives to come more obvious then that one.
He’s got very little (if any) professional experience so why is he an NHL anallyst? The worst part is he’s on just about every hockey show on TV (On the Fly, NHL Live, Overtime, ect…) He takes 20 minutes to ask 1-word-answer questions when he interviews people. I swear he just loves to hear himself talk. Sometimes he even tries to play host on NHL Live. It’s so bad sometimes I turn it off.
He really needs to study “Clement, Clement – hands of cement” to learn how it’s done.
Great Job On This Card
