I like the 3rd line of Cooke-Park-Asham...
…haha…a first line of Sid/Geno/Neal….WOW!
WE ARE.......PENN STATE!
Sounds like just a placeholder for Sullivan. Doesn’t sound like 87 will play tomorrow, whoever told you that should be shot!

Finally a half way decent winger for Malkin.

according to nhl.com
sid is not playing tuesday vs Avalanche. As per HCDB
Thats what she said! - Michael Gary Scott

On clarifying Crosby’s status:
We stated we will let (the media) know when he is playing. It’s not going to be a secret. I’m not telling anything else other than there is no change in his status.
HCDB. Not to fuel the flames of speculation, but he didn’t specifically rule him out for Tuesday’s game.
Bylsma’s saying “it’s not a secret, we’ll tell you when Crosby’s going to play”
but then “nothing new on Sid, haven’t ruled him in or out”.
So, if you take him at face value, maybe the decision hasn’t been made yet. I would tend to lean towards no Sid tomorrow as of right now though, based on all the info.
"You come at the King, you best not miss."
The league would impose a fine on him if he did that. Basically he is telling them that, without using those words. He’s also shielding Sid, from having to answer the same stupid questions everyday. However at some point I suspect that the league may tell the Pens to make Sid available to the media. I don’t know exactly how that works with NHL players and their CBA, specially a player on IR.

So no Sid and probably no Sullivan…don’t we need another call-up for a F? When are Jeffrey and Big Mac back?
Get in the fast lane grandma, the bingo game is ready to roll!
Jeffrey and MacIntyre could be called back at any time. They can only stay a max of 14 days, so they’ll be back in about a week or so anyways.
Wilkes-Barre plays tomorrow and then not until Friday…There might be good reason to give Jeffrey one more game there and bring him back on Wednesday.

Informing the Media
I don’t see why the Penguins should feel obligated to put the media on notice of when Crosby is going to play. That will just kick off a complete circus. AND help the opposition prepare for the game. I’d give them notice 5 minutes before he took the ice.
I like your thinking also. Great idea. The only bad side is that Versus may decide to broadcast the Pens for the next 2 weeks.

Versus Hate?
I really don’t understand the hate for versus. I think it’s just unfounded snobbishness – “I’m cool because I think something is lame!!!”
I love versus. When ESPN was being douchy about hockey, they stepped up to the plate. Before the NHL Network, Versus was the only place to see a nightly hockey roundup.
Versus isn’t perfect, but they’re better than nothing … and they’re better than the shouty-laugh-heads that work at ESPN.
grain of salt
The reason I don’t like vs, is that because they are a competing cable co. to my provider, they have forced my provider to put their programming on a separate package that adds basically vs. That’s $30 a month for lousy programs except during hockey season. I get NHL Center Ice, and I can’t afford to spend more on this channel.($360 a year) to watch what after the season is done. At least when it was on ESPN it was a very reasonable deal. This is what the NHL did in giving this broadcast rights to Comcast, who basically tries to make people that have other providers and like hockey unhappy. Guess what I’m more unhappy about the Comcast service (or lack thereoff).
The Hockey Dr.
True, Comcast is Bad
I see your point about Comcast. They are certainly an evil company…
grain of salt
ESPN wasn’t been douchy, it was just business at the time. The only reason that VS came trough, was that they were a 4th rate “sport” network that belongs to Comcast. They didn’t have any real sports coverage, and a lot of air time. A large base of Comcast subscribers to “force” the channel on. Given this they picked up the NHL.All I know is that when it was on ESPN I didn’t have to pay any extra money to get one channel with little content.

Clarification: Being in Europe I usually get a smattering of different broadcasters, whatever is available on stream is what I watch. Until this season I haven’t had any choice in which feed to watch.
I always enjoy games on Versus. Good production and good commentators. Although this goes for most of the major networks (TSN and NBC – though I guess Versus is now a part of NBC). The only major network I can’t stand is CBC. Their blatant homerism whenever a Canadian team is playing is disgusting. My deep and abiding loathing for the channel began when I had to watch all but one of the Penguins playoff games of the 09/10 playoffs against Ottawa and Montreal on CBC.
My favorite will always be the local FSN Pittsburgh/Root Sports. I love Errey to death and the production is always top notch, with snappy and timely replays. Too often when I watch a game on a different channel I end up irritated with the lack of timely replays, a problem I never have with Root Sports.
My beef with VS is what I already wrote. Plus because I get NHL Center Ice in North America, when the game is on VS is blacked out on Center Ice. You are probably lucky in Europe that it doesn’t happen.
The Hockey Dr.
Same beef.
Except I pay for NHL Gamecenter, get blacked out there and end up watching some sh*tty online feed that looks like a real-time live-action watercolor painting.

Yeah I can certainly sympathize with the blackout problem, but that would be the case with ESPN, as well, so I don’t really feel it’s fair holding that against Versus. Although I guess the odds of people having ESPN in their cable package would be greater than that of people having Versus. And then there’s the whole issue that ESPN would only have shown a tenth of the games Versus does, so that there would barely be any blackouts because of that.
Anyhoo, although I have NHL Gamecenter Live (online) for the first time this season (and loving it!) I do indeed not experience any blackouts. But I’m sure it’s coming once they figure out what they’re doing in Europe, but those blackouts would obviously have nothing to do with Versus, but rather the local TV stations. Hell I might lose access to NHL Gamecenter Live altogether in favor of some local rubbish. Well so far so good, it’s working and I’m enjoying it! :D

Yep.
Mostly I love that he’s played the game and knows it extremely well. He sees a lot of things other commentators do not.
But I also love his wit. Some favorites:
“Sergei Gonchar doesn’t have the green jacket yet…minus-12…but he’s certainly in the running.”
“Did you say ‘Korpikoski’ or ‘cup of coffee?’”
“Is that glove not working on Carey Price?”
“It looks like he stuck his finger in a…socket, didn’t he…Jeff Reed?”
Errey: “I would’ve shoe checked him!”
Steiggy: “Tell them what a shoe check is so they know what you’re talking about…”
Errey: “Well…you know…you get under the table, throw a little ketchup, some HP sauce, A1 Sauce, HP in Canada…House of Parliament…but you throw a little something on their shoe! And then you tap the glasses. I shoe checked Bob Johnson in the Stanley Cup Finals!”
I hate Versus
But that’s only because I live in SC and it’s not on my basic package, so seeing a Pens game costs me the amount of dinner and a few beers at the one bar in town that has NHL Center Ice
