PITTSBURGH (AP)—Pittsburgh Penguins forward James Neal(notes) has been fined $2,500 for high sticking Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban(notes) Saturday in Montreal.
Neal was assessed a minor penalty on the play. The Penguins defeated the Canadiens, 4-3.
The money from the fine, which is the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Neal has 13 goals and 23 points this season for the first-place Penguins.
