The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Robert Bortuzzo from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.  Bortuzzo, 22, has played in two games this season for WBS, going scoreless with a plus-3 rating. Bortuzzo missed all of training camp and the first several weeks of the season following an injury suffered at the rookie tournament in Oshawa, ON in early September. Last season, the 6-foot-3, 196-pound Bortuzzo established career highs with 4 goals, 22 assists, 26 points and a plus-28 rating in 79 games. Bortuzzo’s plus-28 rating led WBS and ranked second in the AHL. He also helped the Penguins allow an AHL-low 183 goals.
