Deryk Engelland suspended for three games
Penguins' Engelland suspended three games for hit on Kruger
So, the Hammer of Shanny is laid upon us again... Losing another defenseman for a few games seems like the rule rather than the exception these days.
Maybe one game more than what I thought, but a suspension was warranted here. Just a bad decision by a fine a clean defenseman. I just hope some of the other guys gets healthy soon... A bit tired of this recall of healthy bodies from WBS on a nightly basis.
Thoughts?

I agree with the suspension, but THREE GAMES! I was thinking one, maybe two. Kronwall had better get suspended for that hit on Kesler. Get your head out of your ass, Shanahan.

Kronwall didn’t make contact with the head. I’m not a fan of him, he leaves his feet and should pay, but there’s a big difference in his hit and Engo’s.
"You come at the King, you best not miss."
True, but Kronwall leaves his feet on almost every hit and to suspend Engo three times for his first offense doesn’t make sense. The NHL does a great job of selectively enforcing the hits to the head. Rinaldo knocked Bortuzzo out with a late elbow to the head and nothing was even looked at on that play. There have been a lot of inconsistencies that we’ve become used to with the Campbell era.

there shouldn’t be a suspension, there’s been far worse hits than this that ppl havent got suspended for
Just because Shanahan and company has dropped the ball on a lot of other illegal plays so far that warranted suspensions, or longer suspensions than what was doled out, does not mean that they should let this one go. The suspension is fair.
no way, there was no intent to injure and he’s not a repeat offender, 1 game at the most
