It looks like Eric Tangradi has been chosen to replace the injured Dustin Jeffrey as he has been recalled by the Pittsburgh Penguins again.

Who will be the next unfortunate Pen to go down with an injury? :(

I can’t recall ever seeing a Penguin team suffer with these many injuries. Literally every game someone is going down. Get healhty guys!

Proud fan of Pittsburgh's professional sports teams and the Pirates too.

Yeah and it sucks watching other teams getting healthy bodies back while we keep losing them….. but.. it will make us stronger in the end. Go Pens!

I wouldn't touch this action...

If patterns hold, then he will play in the middle and be good. I won’t dare mention names. There is already far too much jinx karma surrounding this squad.

Love the pic. Is that Sykora on the left? By the end of his time with the Pens, he really fell off, but before that he was a beast!

Man, this is getting ridiculous. What will the lines be tonight? And who the hell is going to play center?

Dupuis – Staal – Kennedy
Rupp – Talbot – Conner
Sterling – Adams – Johnson
Craig – Vitale – Tangradi

That 2nd line looks like it should be a 4th line. Thank god our defense is still healthy.

Craig is the only other guy that’s had some center experience. You think that might be what Shero is looking to acquire. As much as I don’t think Arnott is the answer, he sure could help as long as we don’t give up much at all.

MASH unit

Pretty soon Shero, Mario and Blysma will have to lace them again.

Mario is probably in the best shape of his life…

Bylsma would fit right in with this group of grinders.

This reminds me of last year when every single NHL defenseman was hurt, except Eaton. (And even Eaton got dinged up a little and kept going). At that time I think the forwards were healthy, just defense dropping like flies.

This year is like that, in reverse. The defense has had great health so far (thank goodness) but the forwards can’t make it out of a game/gameday skate without one going down.

SOooo Penguins fans

Now that Crosby and Malkin are out. Is Billy Guerin still too old or does he actually look appealing now? Looks like you guys will be FORCED to make a trade for a goal scorer as a rent a player right now.

LETS GO FLYERS ! Woohooo !

Check out our various fanposts for more intelligent discussion on the predicament Shero is in as far as trades go. It’s difficult to say that trading for a rental goal scorer is the best option at this point, depending on what we have to give away in terms of future benefit.

Also, if you don’t mind (and even if you do), I am going to go kick some flyers in the knees. Which they obviously deserve, since they kick puppies and make fun of old people.

My feet are wet.

by PopRocks on Feb 11, 2011 5:25 PM EST up reply actions

You said the exact same thing a few days ago. No, Shero will not be signing Guerin.

We’re also not FORCED to do any such thing. And if we do, why would a rental be mandatory? There’s a number of options out there that would not be rentals.

Why, are you uncomfortable that the Pitts-Barre/Scranton Penguins are still only a couple points behind your completely healthy Flyers?

lol – Love the banter.

Not Uncomfortable at all. I rather enjoy being the top of the NHL and being lesser known NHL Players than the “Darlings” of the league in the Penguins.

I do have to give credit. Penguins have held their own with all the injuries and the poor play of “flower” at the beginning of the season.

Its not the Penguins season this year – IMHO.

Many of us would agree at this point. In fact, 1/1/11 seems to be the day of the apocalypse to some.

Everyone said last year that it wasn't the Flyers year

And, well, it still wasn’t…but you went a hell of a lot farther than anyone outside of Philadelphia could have predicted.

Enjoy sitting pretty for now. Your good luck on the injury front may not last forever. I’d love to see how you’d hold up if your forwards started dropping like flies as well.

No it doesn’t look like our year at the moment, when it’s been everything that could go wrong, will go wrong. But if you’ve learned anything, never count a team out while there are still games to be played. Although if I’m honest, it is a little strange why you chose to come over here now of all times – wanting to rub it in, that our lineup has been eradicated by injuries while yours hasn’t? Not sure…

Figures...

is it any wonder the flyers and their fans are the most disliked in the league? Geesh

This is the mentality I deal with every day…..when those flyer fans start with their “you missing your Cindy?” jabs and proclaim this is their year, I tell them It’s much more gratifying to win when the opponent is at their best, it means you are even better. It’s too bad the only way they feel they could win is when the opponent’s best players are unavailable.

Got Crosby?

Forced?

By what. So far if they keep scraping points, Shero’s hand is not forced. Also he’ll make the proper trade when the time comes. Good luck with your wishful (Flyers fan) thinking. We’ll see you guys in the playoffs.

you gotta love BLOGS, losers like yourself can hide behind there screens say whatever they want, with no repercussions…
1 thing for sure, YOUR creamsicle’s won’t be winning the CUP this year either….your goalie situation is still a JOKE…. on the way to our 2 SC finals appearances & 1 CUP… we eliminated you both times…Your window of opportunity is very , very small…
