Steckel's hit/Crosby/trade deadline

So today, the Washington Capitals sent David Steckel to New Jersey for Jason Arnott. Something popped into my mind today and I am sure it must have popped into all of yours: I received the impression that now that the Capitals have used their pawn to take out Crosby, they simply discarded him away, almost as if to say "Thanks for your dirty work, Stecks". It actually reminded me of the Joker in Batman, using his disposable henchman to try to take out Batman and then disposing them as well either directly or indirectly.Or remember in The Karate Kid, where the evil sensei used his student to perform an illegal move on Daniel, irregardeful of the consequence of his student? In my mind, the Caps are on that level, ever since the Mario days.

Maybe I am looking too much into this, maybe I am stating the obvious or maybe I am downright crazy.... Just curious to what everyone thinks here.

All in all, Shero did a great job this year. I believe that he firmly believes that Sid will be back this year. Really, we dont know  how hard Sid is training now, do we? He could be working out extremely hard for all we know only to be hiding this information from the media so our opponents dont know.I doubt he reveals everything.

You never know.
