With Malkin out, who could the Pens target via trade?

Malkin's injury is obviously a huge blow to the team, and his offensive production needs to be made up for somehow.  With much more cap room to play with at the trade deadline, it is probably safe to assume that Shero will be trying to swing some sort of deal.

Keeping in mind that Malkin's salary will be back on the cap next year, here is a list of impending free agents who may be available at the deadline that could help the Pens.

Jason Arnott--13 Goals--10 Assists.  Despite getting up there in age, Arnott has had a reasonably productive season on a team that has not been very good for the most part.  Considering the Devils are solidly out of the race, he should be available.

Alexi Kovalev--10 Goals--12 Assists.  Inconsistent and sometimes infuriating to watch, Kovalev still has one of the better shots in the league and is dangerous with the puck on his stick.  Ottawa would likely not demand much in exchange for getting rid of this bad contract, but with Malkin's injury the pens could afford him.  Big risk-reward move that could backfire.

Justin Williams--18 Goals--21 Assists.  Very productive year for Williams, might he become available if the Kings fall a little further?

Erik Cole--13 Goals--17 Assists.  Physical and can score some, would fit in with the aggressive Pens lineup.  My personal sentimental choice as a Clarkson student.

Jussi Jokinen--12 Goals--26 Assists.  Not as physical as Cole but more offensively productive, Canes would need to fall back somewhat for either one to become available.

Andrew Brunette--14 Goals--16 Assists.  Solid offensive player who could fill a scoring wing need.  Minnesota is part of a group of roughly 7 western conference teams that could go one way or the other in terms of playoffs.  His availalbility may be dictated by where the Wild are in a few weeks.

Alex Tanguay--12 Goals--27 Assists.  Solid season so far, Flames have been unbelievably hot just to get back in the race, a few bad weeks and they are likely to sell.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, and only considers players who will be free agents at the end of the year.  Personally I would like to see Shero get Cole, Williams, or Jokinen but players from teams that are further out of the race may be more realistic.

Who would you like to see the Pens go after?
