Crosby, Letestu skate early
Penguiins center Sidney Crosby just got off the ice at Southpointe, an hour before the rest of the team is scheduled to practice. We aren't sure how long he was skating, but he worked with conditioning coach Mike Kadar doing various shooting drills with cones. One of these days, Crosby, who is working his way back from a concussion, will join his teammates at practice, perhaps in no-contact mode, but it doesn't look like that will be today. While they were at one end of the rink, Mark Letestu skated on his own at the other end. Now that Crosby has retired to the locker room, though, Letestu is working with Kadar. Letestu is considered day to day because of what is believed to be a shoulder injury. Coach Dan Bylsma said Letestu went out with no gear when he skated Saturday. Today, he is in full gear.
