Sid or No Sid, the Pens still have issues
Stop this buffoon if you've heard this before- the Pens PP stinks and their top offensive players aren't scoring enough.
(But still read the buffoon's thoughts anyways)

Who is this Jimmy Rixner clown...
:)
But for reals, you’re spot on.. The thought that Crosby coming back is going to turn everything around is more of a hope than a reality… But.. getting the best player in the world back on your team is a big thing.. and he skates half of the PP time so there’s no reason to think he’s not going to be a pretty nice boost to the PP.
There's an 87% chance this post is sarcasm...

A very thought provoking article….
I say that having Sid back WILL jumpstart our powerplay and scoring ability. How can it not? Just his mere presence on the bench will allow everyone to breather easier and relax more. Having him back WILL rejuvenate the team mentally and physically. PLUS, having him back will cause the opposition to worry and think too much. Its more of the intangibles really…..
On the flipside, NOT having him back, well, I will admit that we will have problems scoring and will have to continue winning games the way we have this whole time, that is, low scoring and tight.
( BTW Hooks, I love your profile picture. You look like a young man that exudes much positive energy! )
"Have you ever seen such finesse?"
Damn right. It’s Fleury that looks like Jimmy. Even Fleury knows that.

Totally agree with your sentiments on the PP. But, I really don’t think that the Pens’ inability to come back in the third will be a big problem. There is always the chance that they need a lot of 3rd period combacks in the playoffs, or that game 7 depends on one, but I just don’t see it being a big issue. Now, that power play…
Put on your dancin' shoes.
Suggestion...
when the Penguins get a PP, they decline
or better yet, they give the OTHER team the PP.
they seem to feed off a good kill.
and their chances of getting a shortie have to be better than 4.68%.
It’s a shame about our lack of wins when trailing after two, if for no other reason than the fact that fans live for third period comebacks.
If we had an “average” rate of comebacks trailing into the third, we could expect two maybe three wins. So hopefully, some of that is just bad luck. Surely some of the issue is our lack of scoring as of late. I doubt it’s a lack of desire/effort, but if it were that’d be really really bad.
On the brightside, at least we’ve only trailed going into the third in 20 games.
Thank you for pointing out that Sid coming back is not some silver bullet that will make the Pens Cup contenders again. As we have witnessed during their two Cup runs, the playoffs are a different animal entirely from the regular season. Playoff games require more grit and hard work than regular season (which the Pens have plenty of with and without Sid), but also require scoring goals and taking advantage of opponent mistakes. Obviously, Sid coming back helps, but a complete team effort is required, including the players Hooks mentioned scoring more and Letang being an effective PP QB. Also hitting the goal mouth for Letang, that can’t be stressed enough.
