Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins have announced that they have re-signed forward Ben Street to a one-year AHL contract. Street was the ECHL's Rookie of the Year last season, and was clearly a top priority of the organization's free agents.

I’d like see what he can do over a full season. Street’s getting a little long in the tooth for a prospect, but he’s only about 9 months behind were Letestu was, so who knows.

Yes but you have to realize he played college hockey so he is going to be a little older than the kids coming out of junior hockey. Another undrafted guy that is working his tail off.

I really like Street. He is taking the long road and a hard road, working for every inch of ice he gets. I look forward to seeing more this season.

nice

this is definitely good news, I just wonder if he would be able to fulfill the role of a first line scoring center or will he slot somewhere lower in the line-up?

I’d say second line, but Tony and Hooks would have much more accurate opinions, I think

thing is the 4 centermen most likely to line-up in WBS are Craig, Vitale, Street and Sill… and none of them is a 1C by nature…

Personally I’d think Street has a great chance for solid minutes. I believe Craig plays C down there, and he’ll get a lot of heavy assignments, but I’m sure Street will get all the ice-time that he proves he can handle.
