But Kennedy says he isn't really interested in testing the free-agent market. His agent has been in discussions with the Pens and Kennedy is optimistic an agreement can be reached before the noon deadline on Friday. "We're talking, so hopefully we can get a deal done before then," Kennedy said on Tuesday. He would prefer to remain in Pittsburgh, but there are no guarantees, he said. "You never know, it's hockey. I'm not really sure what's going to happen," he said. "I enjoy Pittsburgh. I have a lot of good friends there. I think we have a good team, and obviously I want to try to win a Cup again. There's a good opportunity there to try to do that again."
