Great work by Wysh. I just did a similar search on the media section and all of the images have been renamed “Jaromir Jagr.” If this isn’t a sure sign that he’s coming back I don’t know what is.

Update: No seriously, I don’t know what is

the DelCoTimes piece is typical Philly-media trash. Jagr’s stringing this out, getting more offers just so he can say he “turned down more money” to sign in Pittsburgh?
I call shenanigans. This is Svoboda doing what an agent does—squeezing the most money out of his client’s suitors. Problem is, the Pens aren’t as desperate to sign Jagr as he is to come back to the NHL and retire gracefully a hero. This entire drama is Svoboda trying to get the Pens to raise from ~$2M to somewhere between $2.5-3M. And I don’t blame him—he’s getting around 10% of the total.

Yup. Like I said above, I did a similar search this morning and those same images were named “Jaromir Jagr.” And that is all it was named.

Ok, so the Pens might expect Jagr to be coming….But after the turbulence of this week how confident is everyone?
I’m still thinking 50/50, can’t let my hopes get too high.

I’m at about a 40/60 on the good news/bad news. The longer this goes on, the less chance I feel we have of getting him, I fear.

I still think there’s at least a 60% that Jagr will wear a Penguins jersey in 2011-12 just because that’s the option which still seems to make more sense, for many reasons… But if he goes somewhere else I won’t be too surprised.
In any case, a good part of the initial enthusiasm and excitement is gone and if he finally signs with Pittsburgh, for many of us it will be a “It was about time, what the hell took you so long?” sort of thing, instead of a “WOOOHOOOO! WELCOME BACK, LEGEND!” as it should have been.
I'm waiting for the text of...
Pens to hold a Press Conference at Noon.

Ha...
Good point. Maybe they’ll do a PC from an undisclosed location? Ok, unlikely. You’re right though. I don’t think he would find a way into that city without being notice in one form or another.

Greg Wyshynski tweets:
“unconfirmed. Jagr has agreed to a deal with the Penguins. 1 year, 1.68 million. Waiting for confirmation.”

Nope!
Haha. People really need to get a life. I hate saying things like that, but someone needs attention so badly that they have a Grey Wyshynski “parody” account that they keep active for months? How sad. Now I remember why I very rarely go on Twitter.
its ok
