Probably once a week for the next month we'll get a Sidney Crosby rumor.
And not to throw our neighbors to the north under the bus, but they're all coming from Canadian journalists with un-named or unknown sources.
That's just the way it is.
Even though not much is going on in this dead-time before training camp starts, we probably won't address this too much more on Pensburgh. Unless information comes from Troy Crosby, Pat Brisson (the agent), Ray Shero, Dan Bylsma, Mario Lemieux or directly from a doctor who's seen Crosby, all reports should be taken at face value.
Dejan Kovacevic from the Trib talked to two of those prime sources and posted the following on twitter-
Lemieux just told me he talked to Sid two weeks ago, hopes he's ready for camp. Otherwise, nothing new.
Bylsma: "Sidney's progressed nicely this summer." Said team is "hoping" he'll be ready for camp but won't/can't know until that starts.
Everybody wants to know more, but right now that's all we've got. As Bylsma said, nothing definite will be known until camp when they decide if it's appropriate for Crosby to practice, and ideally, be cleared for practice. This is not new news from last week or last month, but that won't stop the reports from trickling down. Just gotta deal with it for a few weeks more, guys, and then we'll find out something definite from a report that actually is truthful.
But hey, in other news pre-season tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 AM!
