The latest steps in Sidney Crosby’s recovery from a concussion have been visits to leading specialists around the country to monitor his progress.
Their conclusion is that he will make a full recovery – it just takes time.
Crosby is expected to be back in Pittsburgh in the next few weeks, where he will continue to work toward a return to the ice, although no specific timetable has been set.

Now a twit
Does this mean you’re back?
How are you? Haven’t seen you on Twitter or Pensburgh in a long while.
Mario Lemieux is better than you.

Nothing new. It’s sad that the Pens and Crosby even had to put this together. I guess that just shows what kind of power a bunch of bored “journalists,” with no other news to write about, can force a team and high level player like Crosby to do. (I’m not talking about Dejan’s new Trib article, rather the rumor spreaders; although I’m sure Dejan is one of the reason’s this update was given)
At this point, all we can do is hope that Crosby will be ready for training camp. Seems like a stretch, but you never know…

Now that free agency has settled down and there’s nothing else to talk about, Crosby’s status is easily the biggest story right now. I’m sure the Pens didn’t want to take a big step, but the fact they did it at 9:00PM shows they’re just trying to get some info out there and clear up all the crazy rumors. Better to get out in front of the story, you know?

I wouldn’t say that they’re out in front of the story. The rumor mill brewed long before this official statement—this is more about getting the stories to stop or slow down. That seems pretty obvious to me.
Anyway, my point is that it’s sad they had to do this. This isn’t an update whatsoever (we already knew all this information); it’s something that was forced upon them by the crazy rumors out there.
Mario Lemieux is better than you.
