Jay McKee named Amerks Assistant Coach.

The parent Buffalo Sabres will announce their AHL assistant coaches for Rochester at an 11 a.m. news conference on Wednesday. Jay Mckee will be named one of the assistants. McKee played 13 seasons in the NHL, his last season was with the Penguins.

Pretty cool, nice tidbit Oz.

Shame that McKee really slowed down and couldn’t play in the NHL anymore. Still a great career for him and hopefully he’s able to do well in his new coaching profession.

I know he coached at the college level last year waiting for a call that never came. Good to see him move on and land solid. Amerks are in great position with Pegula taking over in Buffalo. Trickle down effect is already apparent.
