Burnside Draws Parallels Between Savard and Crosby

Scott Burnside wastes no time asking if the uncertainty surrounding Bruins' forward Marc Savard's uncertain career future should also be asked of Sidney Crosby. It seems impossible, even absurd, that a chance collision between Washington's David Steckel and Crosby during January's Winter Classic might end the career of someone as obviously special as Crosby. But when we see Wednesday's news out of Boston and if we're honest, we accept the reality that any shift can be the last shift regardless of a player's pedigree, and given Crosby's long absence from the game, it is natural to wonder about the worst. Thanks to Savard, we know what the worst can mean.
