The Jordan Staal situation has somewhat over-shadowed a similarly pressing concern: getting Sid Crosby's name on the dotted line for the foreseeable future.
Hooks on Pensburgh already covered the issue well, but I wrote this before reading what he had to say. My view is that Ray Shero and Sid's camp (Pat Brisson) will work to whittle the Cap number down to something that pleasantly-surprises everyone involved - maybe as an early pitch to get Jordan Staal to agree to stay.
My bet is that the Cap Hit is lower than the $9 Million-Dollar figure that most of the prognosticators are throwing around, but I think they're right about the Contract Length being 10 years. Thoughts?
