Gameday 17: Pens 'welcome' the Flyers

The Pittsburgh Penguins and their arch-rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers, meet tonight in Pittsburgh.

It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh tonight as the Philadelphia Flyers (7-9-1). The Flyers currently find themselves out of the playoff bubble at press time, but find themselves playing better hockey of late, including a 7-0 shellacking of the lowly New York Islanders in their last game.

At 11-5-0, the Penguins are tied for first in the Atlantic Division and look to extend that lead over their in-state arch-rival tonight.

The player to watch tonight for the Flyers may be winger Jakub Voracek, who is also Philly's leading scorer so far this season. Broad Street Hockey has stumped for more time for Voracek, saying:

So the solution here, since he's performing very well at both ends of the ice, seems to be to play him more. And yesterday's game -- which found him on the top line with Giroux and Read -- was an encouraging sign that he'll get more playing time going forward
