For me there are two big factors to consider during this break. The Pens aren't riding some emotional high, or playing above their talent, so I'm not worried that we'll fall apart, Boston might have more to worry about on that side, but I don't think it really applies to them either.
Both teams have players that could use some time to heal, Boston probably more than us, but not a lot.
My big two are:
Jerome Iginla. With almost no practices this season, Jerome could benefit from some practice time with his new teammates, and maybe get a little better chemistry and fit into our team playstyle. Not that Iggy has been bad, he just hasn't seemed like he fits in very well. This layoff could be just what he needs to get some rest and some time to work on line chemistry. If Neal gets some rest and this line improves watch out. I don't really know how it would improve in offensive production, but still, it is worth thinking about.
Vokoun. He's been playing great, one of the best stretches in his career. If there is anyone we can point to as a player playing above their level, Vokoun would be the number 1 target. This layoff might be the opposite of what he needs. Hopefully he rests and comes back just as strong as he has been, otherwise this layoff might be what MaF needs, to get him back in goal.
Most of us have been saying Fleury will need to start at some point, with all this time off while Vokoun won, hopefully Fleury is ready for one of his stretches of absolute brilliance. That would be ideal.
