With Dupuis out for the foreseeable future on LTIR, the question has to be asked:
Will the Penguins attempt to acquire a winger to fill his role through the end of the season? I've seen a few names floated out there (Blake Wheeler, Bobby Ryan, etc.), but i think the best fit, both stylistically and cap-wise might be Matt Moulson.
If you recall, Sid was apparently in contact with Matt Moulson a couple of years back when the Penguins were engaged in talks with the Islanders to possibly acquire him. They apparently have a friendly relationship, and Moulson has the sort of game that would really mesh well with Kunitz and Crosby. He's a quick, scrappy player, and he knows how to put the puck in the net when given open opportunities. Consider him a Pascal Dupuis-lite. Add in the fact that Buffalo is rebuilding and already netted a 1st round pick when they got him from the Isles for Vanek, and this might be a perfect fit.
What do you think , Pensburgh? Would he be a good fit? And what do you think the asking price for Moulson would be?
