I saw this from one of my favorite (only favorite?) journalist, James Mirtle. He goes into a bit of depth about Botterill and the whole setup.
Admittedly, I wasn't a big fan of the hire. My initial take was why hire a failed GM like Montgomery Burns here as a nanny to a guy who clearly wasn't ready at a time when the team is in midst of a real championship window. However, if Mirtle's access is to be believed, I feel a bit more sanguine about the whole move. It still seems a workaround to the genuine problem, but the upside seems a lot higher.
I hope you enjoy the article.
