With Spaling and Sutter rejecting their qualifying offers and with some fans not so thrilled with them as options in the first place, Pittsburgh must sign another three players to fill the roster yet. After a brief glimpse of what we are likely to see, I suggest some players still available that might suit the team well.
Assumptions:
Top line: Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
2nd line: Bennett-Malkin-Hornqvist
4th line: Comeau-Goc-Downie
Extra: Adams
Def: Letang, Martin, Erhoff, Scuderi, Dumolin, Bortuzzo, Depres, Samuelsson
AHL/injured: Maatta, Pouliot
*This lineup leaves roughly $6M for a third line.
Options still on the market (7-3-14)

It doesn’t seem to me to be much of a stretch to think that these players might sign for around $2M. They also seem to me like an upgrade over a line of Spaling(2.25)-Sutter(3.75)-Adams(0.7).
This post is to start a conversation. What are your thoughts?
-Do any of these players stand out to you(for better or worse)?
-Would you rather keep Sutter's line?
-Is Whitney too old, Roy too pricey, Ott too popular, or Byron too inconsistent?
-Would any of these d-men improve our outlook?
-Are there others still available that you would rather see?
