Hardest Shot?
After watching the handful of power plays in tonight's Avs game, I got to wondering which of the Penguins has the hardest/fastest slapshot. Anyone know the answer and/or how that compares to the rest of the league?
Winning the Cup without Crosby
I was having a beer after work tonight and the first thought that entered my mind was "Man, I miss Sid, he didn't deserve this..." And those thoughts continued...and even now as I type.
Is it possible to win the Cup without 87? Can Geno carry the load?
I personally think so....buuuut we might need to add another scorer.
Your thoughts, please...
Pensburgh Fantasy leagues?
Who generally sets up the Pensburgh leagues? I've been in League B for the last couple years and was wondering when we'd be planning the draft this year.
I forgive Jagr
What Jagr did was low down and despicable but for some reason I forgive him. That is all.
Pens blogger?
Hey guys, I apologize for wasting a fan shot for this, but I'm looking for a humorous/sarcastic Penguins fan and/or blogger who might be interested in guest-writing for a blog post I'm planning. If anyone is interested, reply to this, tweet to me or e-mail me (Downgoesavery@aol.com). Thanks and again, I apologize for wasting a fan shot!
Playoff Predictions?
Post your playoff predictions, whether it be for round one or the entire playoffs, here!
Evgeni Malkin
I do not have too much to say here, just that I am starting to miss Evgeni Malkin a little bit and am wondering if anybody else does.
Obviously, there is a lot of talk and spotlight on Sidney Crosby, much deserved talk and spotlight I might add. However, have we forgotten Geno?
Probably not but we just don't hear much about him.
We miss you, Geno!
Penguins at Flyers, March 24, 2011
I was just curious: Are any Pensburghers braving the Philadelphia crowd and attending the game tonight? I am a Penguins fan living in Flyers Country and got two sets of tickets for tonight's game for Christmas. The ones I'm using are 2 rows behind the player benches! So look for a dork on TV wearing a Fleury jersey behind the benches and you just might see SidgeniMalsby! Let's Go Pens!
April 8, 2011 vs Islanders
First off I would like to give props to the organizers, posters, and the community of Pensburgh. I read this daily and sometimes too often and I finally decided to write up something on my mind. We all know what happened during the previous "game" against the team from long island. I would like to see everyone's opinion on what will transpire this time around. It will be in New York, the 2nd to last game of the season, and as much as players say they put things behind them... I'm sure they haven't forgotten the previous game. I'm certain the Penguins will not do anything over the top that would put anyone in suspension mode for the playoffs, but I can't imagine it being a typical game. Looking forward to your opinions and I'm happy to be a part of Pensburgh.
Bettman's Five Point Plan for Player Safety
1. Brendan Shanahan will work with the NHLPA on reducing the size, while still keeping the protection, of player equipment. 2. The NHL will implement changes to the current in-game concussion protocol, moving from a system where the team trainer gives a quick player test on the bench to a system where the team doctor gives those tests in a quiet room away from the ice. Also, if a player shows and "listed symptoms" of a concussion or if they grab their head following a hit, they will be held out of the game on a mandatory basis. 3. Supplementary discipline will be considered for teams and coaches that have a what the NHL determines as a "repeat offender" on their roster. 4. The NHL has hired an engineering firm to inspect the 30 rinks around the league to find areas where safety measures can be enhanced. 5. Finally, a "blue-ribbon panel" consisting of former players will analyze all of these rule issues, recommend changes and "examine topics relevant to the issue."
