Can't let the Thrashers reach .500 on account of the Pens.

As mentioned earlier, Dany Sabourin will be in net over Marc-Andre Fleury tonight.
Boucher debuts with the team tonight. Looks like he's getting paired with Alex Goligoski. Evidence shows concrete lines and pairings don't exist in Pittsburgh anyway, so whatever works.
Marek Zidlicky makes me uncomfortable. He's as offensive as a defenseman can get. I hope the Pens play a disciplined game tonight and keep his shot away from the power play.

Looks like Dupuis will be skating down on the fourth line with Ziggy and Godard. On paper that looks like a solid line. Let's hope it holds on the ice.
I wanna see the Fedotenko/Malkin/Sykora line really click tonight. Everyone knows what the first line can do, but let's see some life from Line Two as well.
Ryan Miller is 2-4-2 against the Penguins in his career.
Pittsburgh has won their last four meetings against Buffalo.

Flyers scouting report available here.
Dany Briere is out, as mentioned in the report. For the Pens, Rob Scuderi will be a game-time decision. Happy to see no broken/fractured/ruptured anything from that shot block on Tuesday night.
If Scuds can't play then be prepared to see Paul Bissonnette on the blue line. He's had some experience on defense in the past and just might make the move tonight if needed.

The Pittsburgh Penguins ask a pondering question on their website - Stanley Cup rematch, or preview?
Look for Talbot to skate alongside Sid and Satan on the first line tonight.
Expecting big things from the God, Ziggy and Dupuis line.
Fleury between the pipes.

Dany Sabourin gets the call tonight in place of Marc-Andre Fleury, who despite an otherwise winning record for the past two seasons hardly fairs well against the Islanders.
Whatever injury is nagging Sidney Crosby doesn't appear to be an issue tonight. He skated with the team this morning and will play.
Miroslav Satan and Ruslan Fedotenko have a homecoming of sorts tonight against the Islanders. Here's to hoping they make it count.

Dupuis is back on the ice tonight, but Ruslan Fedotenko is still out with a... *spins the wheel of disclosed injuries*...broken face.
Fleury in net.
The Penguins are 6-1-0 in seven of the last nine meetings with the Oilers on home ice. The other two, from back in the day, are on the record as ties (remember those?).

Thankfully Sidney Crosby is playing, but the rest of the roster is also taking a hit.
Pascal Dupuis was moved to the Injured Reserve list. Looks like that puck that hit him in practice must have been pretty bad. Hopefully he'll avoid them next time around.
In his place, Janne Pesonen got the call up and will share a line with Petr Sykora and Evgeni Malkin. This should be exciting to watch. Not that it matters much - Therrien will juggle the lines anyway.
Just when you thought injuries wouldn't stop, Ruslan Fedotenko skated off the ice during the morning skate with an undisclosed injury. He won't dress for tonight's game.
Hal Gillis back in the lineup and Mark Eaton will be a healthy scratch.
Max Talbot will most likely remain a scratch as well, as no word was released on him.
Marc-Andre Fleury is in net for the Pens

Apologies to Pensburgh users who stopped by for the last thread. Things were a bit quiet around here because of the late start and probably will be the same for tonight. We'll definitely have things up and running again for Saturday's game and from hereon in, but if you'd like to park it here for the game then I'd love to have ya. If not, hope to see you back for Saturday and beyond.
On a more depressing note, the Penguins are ranked 23rd in the league offensively. Can we say, turnaround?
Gill is doubtful tonight, and Dupuis left practice yesterday afternoon with an undisclosed injury. Apparently it's serious enough to warrant a Chris Minard call up. Hopefully it's not serious enough that is takes Dupuis out of the lineup for long. He's been a real grinder out there.
Talbot is a scratch, as he continues to hobble around with foot problems.

These 10:30 EST games are killer. I'll catch the whole first period if I'm lucky. Otherwise I'll have to rely on good ol DVR and highlight clips. But feel free to use this thread to talk amongst yourselves.
Joe Thornton is apparently sore from a nagging groin injury. I wouldn't exactly rule a sore Thornton out.
In light of Daryl Sydor requesting a trade, he is fittingly in the lineup tonight. Max Talbot, Paul Bissonnette and Hal Gill are scratches on the night.
Therrien is going with Dany Sabourin tonight. Gulp.
PS - I know it's late for a lot of us, but if anyone would be interested in doing up their own take/recap of the game as a fanpost I'd gladly promote it to the front of the page in the early AM. If not, I will have mine up before 8am.
