NOTES

Many suspected Mathieu Garon would start this one. (Unfortunately?) You were right. Marc-Andre Fleury definitely needed a break after playing his 18th straight game on Thurday against the Jackets. Plus, if you have to pick one or the other to go against the Bruins tomorrow, who would you rather?

Despite all indications and reports pointing to Garon, the Penguins made a game-time decision and put Marc-Andre Fleury between the pipes. I can't see Garon starting tomorrow against the Bruins, although all signs would point to yes. This is Fleury's 19th straight start...

Brian Elliot will start in net for the Senators, a backup who holds a much better record (11-4-3) than Garon (6-9-0).

Petr Sykora is back in practice, having skated with the team yesterday. He's still listed as day-to-day. I've yet to read anything suggesting that he's starting today.

A win extends the point streak to 17.
