Game One preview : Flyers/Penguins

If you really think about it there's not much more previewing that we can do.  Everything that has to be said has been said already.  A preview at this point would just be reiterating a week's worth of content.  So instead, let's talk about some lineup "issues."

Apparently there was a bit of a scare during the morning skate when Petr Sykora left the ice in obvious pain.  Whatever the issue was he still managed to return a few minutes later to a mock applause from his teammates.

Chris Kunitz was a no-show at the morning skate.  His wife is expected to go into labor soon but he is still expected to start.  I can't help but think he'll have a hell of a game tonight if his wife gives birth and he takes to the ice.

Still no word on the Pens' site or in the papers yet as to whether or not Dan Bylsma will take Eric Godard or Craig Adams tonight.  Hopefully we'll have more on that later.

On a more humorous note, Sam Kasan reported on the Penguins' site today that the fire alarm at Mellon Arena went off during the skate.  Make what you want of it, but I relate it to that Consol Energy alarm before the start of every game.  I take that as a good sign - It's game time.

Although, I think people should look into whether or not the Flyers were in town yet.  I hear Danny Briere likes to cause trouble...

Open thread tonight at 7pm.  Be there!
