With the 17th overall pick in the 2009 NHl Draft, the St. Louis Blues select Swedish defenseman David Rundblad. St. Louis Gametime has more. Some suspect it may take a few more years for Rundblad and if he does all have high hopes for him. St. Louis Gametime has more.
He has the skill set to play and excel in the NHL, but he will need to tighten his decision making and defensive game. He will need time to get stronger and mature, but Rundblad should develop into a good top three offensive defenceman.

Rundblad impressed scouts both at the WJC and in the Swedish League, where he played a full-time role with Skelleftea. He's not NHL-ready yet, but will certainly be a mainstay on an NHL blueline once he gets there.
The Hockey News
David Rundblad is one who is fluid on his skates, he likes to take the puck from one end to the other. He is a smooth transitioning d-man, gets the puck out of the zone and generates offence, loves to jump in on the play.
