Pens re-call Eric Tangradi for game against Islanders

From the team:

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled left winger Eric Tangradi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.

Tangradi, 21, has posted 17 goals and 39 points through 65 contests in his first season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He paces the team with eight power-play tallies on the year.

This means that Matt Cooke will be held out of the game, with Tangradi replacing his spot in the lineup.  Forward Chris Kunitz (shoulder) is also expected to be out, so enforcer Eric Godard likely gets one more game before the playoffs as well.

Tangradi's played well lately in Wilkes-Barre, he's got 7 points (5g, 2a) in the last 10 games, including 2 goal, 1 assist night this past Friday that earned him the top star of the game that clinched the Baby Pens playoff berth.  For Tangradi it'll be his NHL first action and perhaps a useful taste of the speed of the game.
