From the team release the Penguins have made a roster move:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defensemen Alexandre Picard and Robert Bortuzzo from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
It's just a guess, but this probably means that Kris Letang (head/nose) won't be able to play. From an unpenalized hit that will cost Max Pacioretty a three game suspension, by the way.
Our best (and uneducated) guess? Picard slots into the lineup tonight and Bortuzzo sticks around as the 7D for the rest of the road trip that continues to Washington on Thursday and Carolina on Saturday. Bortuzzo seems like a pure insurance policy and guy just to have around.
But with now two guys called up, does this mean we might not see Kris Letang for a while? At this point who knows, but it certainly seems that way.
