UPDATE: The WBS Penguins have called up their last possible option at forward from Wheeling, Tyler Murovich, a guy that Wheeling recently acquired in a trade. With only 11 forwards able to play Sunday for Pittsburgh either Tim Wallace or Keven Veilleux will get the call today.
UPDATE(2): Wallace has been recalled to Pittsburgh. It was announced earlier this evening.
I tuned in for tonight's WBS Pens vs Norfolk Admirals game and found out a few things. First off, the Pens won 3-0 and paired with Hershey's loss lets the Pens re-gain a 10 point lead in the division. A few notes from the game:
- Tim Wallace was in Norfolk and did not play tonight due to what Pens radio broadcaster called the flu. If he couldn't play an AHL game then he probably won't be called up for an NHL game on Sunday. Looks like the Pens will go with what they have or give Keven Veilleux the call. Unless the Pens have something up their sleeve.
- Brad Thiessen got the shutout. In his last six games he is 5-1 with a .978 SV% and 3 shutouts.
- Ben Street scored two goals, Keven Veilleux added an assist and the team defense helped Thiessen to his sixth shutout of the season, tying a team record.
