Rob Rossi of the Tribune Review reports:
Coach Dan Bylsma will provide more details after practice, but GM Ray Shero said today he expects D Brooks Orpik to "be out a while," adding that "we expect him back this season." Orpik injured his right arm -- likes his hand -- when he absorbed a shot from Sharks C Patrick Marleau Wednesday night in a home overtime loss.
Orpik did not return to the game after blocking the Marleau shot.
In somewhat better news, Paul Martin (upper body) practiced today, so his two game absence may come to an end tomorrow night when the Penguins meet the Carolina Hurricanes.
Mark Letestu and Dustin Jeffrey made it through a full practice and could be back very soon. Chris Kunitz continues to skate on his own and is on the right path, but not as close to lineup condition. Arron Asham and Mike Comrie are starting light skating, but still weeks away from any thoughts of a return. Still no update about Sidney Crosby, who continues to suffer from concussion symptoms and will remain out of the lineup indefinitely.
