Brett Sterling didn't let the demotion from Pittsburgh affect his play in Wilkes-Barre. He scored twice today, his second breaking a 4-4 tie with 1:11 left in the third and the WBS Pens beat the Springfield Falcons 5-4 in a game that honestly felt like a repeat of last night's game in Toronto. The Pens out shot the Falcons 35-17 and while Thiessen wasn't his usual near perfect self, he made big saves when he had to and picked up his 26th win of the season.

Tim Wallace scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists, while Corey Potter added two assists and was on the ice for the first seven goals. This game marked 75% of the WBS Pens season in the books and the Pens are 44-16 after 60 games.

The win gives the Pens 88 points after 60 games. Hershey won today and now has 80 points after 61 games, and Charlotte did not play today and will remain at 76 points after 62 games. WBS still has the best overall record by seven points.

UPDATE: Check back Tuesday for my monthly report card for the WBS Penguins forwards.
